  • Approx. 6cm diameter × 8cm height
  • Gloss exterior finish
  • Hand-thrown, one-of-a-kind design

After Whisking Matcha

  • Rinse your chasen gently with warm water to remove any remaining matcha powder.
  • Avoid using soap, as it can damage the bamboo.

Dry the Chasen Slightly

  • Shake off excess water and let it air-dry for a few minutes until it’s damp, not dripping.
  • Never leave it soaking or in direct sunlight.

Place the Chasen on the Holder

  • Insert the tines (prongs) of the chasen into the curved opening of the chasen holder.
  • Make sure the base of the handle rests on the bottom of the holder.
  • The tines should fan out naturally without bending or splaying.

Store Properly

  • Once fully dry, store the chasen in a cool, dry place.
  • Using a holder regularly extends the life of your whisk and keeps it performing beautifully.

Savour the ritual — Sip slowly and enjoy as is, or pour over warm milk for a smooth matcha latte.

Dishwasher safe or wash with warm soapy water

Leave the chasen on the holder to dry completely. This helps maintain the curve of the bamboo tines, keeping them flexible and preventing damage.

My journey with ceramics began after moving to Australia in 2012. Having always admired Japanese pottery, I struggled to find pieces here that reflected the same beauty and craftsmanship — so I began creating my own.

Working with Australian clay and traditional Japanese techniques, I craft pieces that are both functional and inspiring, designed to bring beauty and presence into everyday life.

Each piece is one of a kind — a reflection of nature, texture, and intention — waiting to become part of your daily ritual.
